Maine cold case squad bill awaits word on funding

EAST MILLINOCKET, Maine — The bill that would create a state police cold case squad to solve murders such as Joyce McLain ’s nearly 34 years ago has passed the Maine House and Senate, and Gov. Paul LePage supports it.

EAST MILLINOCKET, Maine — A proposal killed by state legislative leaders that would create Maine’s first cold case squad to help solve a 33-year-old town homicide might have new life, Rep. Steve Stanley said Sunday.
